Road building trades and occupations
In road building trades and occupations, you can develop a career path that takes you into the Civil Engineering Construction sector.
You can develop a career in civil engineering by any number of paths. Take the example of two project managers:
- One might have started as an uncertified labourer, then apprenticed as a Driller/Blaster [1]. Already experienced on site, he decides to take construction management courses. After proving his abilities in a series of jobs with greater responsibility, he is offered the project manager position.
- The other might have decided to enter a technical college after high school and study surveying [2]. After working in the sector for a period of time, she decides to expand her opportunities by taking a business degree at university. After working as a scheduler and assistant project manager, she is offered the job of project manager.
